2010 DARKWOODS FILM FEST GUIDELINES!
This is your chance to get in on the ground floor of what will soon become one of them more prestigious film festivals in the Midwest. The submission guidelines are very easy to follow.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
1.) Entries must be original, undistributed works produced, written and/or directed by the submitting filmmaker(s).
2.) All entries using copyrighted material (sound or picture) must obtain proper clearances and permission to use the material. Documentation showing this clearance and permission must be submitted with the application. Examples of copyrighted material may include: popular music, stock footage and still photographs. It is the Filmmakers responsibility to obtain rights, clearances and permission. The Darkwoods Convention and its promoters assume no responsibility for violation of copyright law.
3.) All films will be shown that are accepted. It is to the discretion of the Darkwoods Film Fest advisory board as to what films are deemed appropriate, eligible for entry, & shown in the Darkwoods Film Fest. All rules & guidelines are subject to change. Any change(s) made will be posted & made available to film makers at the earliest possible moment.
4.) The Darkwoods Film Fest is non-genre specific. That means we accept nearly every type of movie out there. However absolutely no pornographic films will be accepted and the final decision or judgment lies with the Darkwoods Film Fest advisory board.
5.) Submission of an entry automatically authorizes unlimited exhibition and duplication rights for the entry to Darkwoods Film Fest for the purpose of judging and publicity. Any media and the contents contained on the media becomes the property of Darkwoods Film Fest. Entries will not be used in any way for commercial purposes. The intent is to allow the Festival to use your entry for promotional or educational purposes. By submitting and entry to the Darkwoods Film Fest, each entrant expressly grants permission to use their name, likeness, hometown, etc...
6.) Due to the over whelming submissions to Darkwoods Film Fest in no way can we guarantee the return of any submitted film. With that being said please DO NOT SEND US THE MASTER COPY!
7.) No entry will be considered unless the entire entry form is completed. If you are entering more than one project, you must submit a separate, completed entry form for each one. Download the Application Material here
8.) Entrants shall indemnify, defend and hold the Darkwoods Film Fest, its agents and its representatives harmless from and against any and all claims, damages, costs, liabilities and expenses which may be incurred by reason of any breach of these representations, or arising out of any matter contained in the media or otherwise by the Festival's use of the media.
9.) Entries may be disqualified for the following reasons:
a.) inappropriate material
b.) incomplete application materials and documentation
c.) submissions on unacceptable media
d.) entries which are submitted past the deadline of January 10, 2010.

10.) In case of questions, disputes or misunderstandings the decisions of the Directors of the Festival are final.
11.) Entry is void where prohibited by law. Entries must be submitted on DVD (video mode only). They must conform to the National Television Standards Committee (NTSC) specifications. DO SEND A HIGH QUALITY COPY.
FAQ
WHAT FORMATS DO YOU ACCEPT?
Please limit submissions to DVD or MINI DVD TAPE. We would also recommend you make your NTSC DVDs on DVD-R if you are burning them. Please be sure to test your DVD and be sure it plays all the way through.
WHAT GENRES DO YOU ACCEPT?
ALL genres are welcome.
WHEN IS THE DEADLINE?
Early entry is up to January 1st 2010.
Absolutely no films will be accepted after January 10th 2010
WHAT DOES IT COST?
Feature Length (over 45 minutes) Early entry $25. Late entry $40 (after January 1st)
Short Film (up to 45 minutes) Early entry $15. Late entry $25
Music videos and trailers (up to 5 minutes) Early entry $5. Late entry $10
HOW DO I PAY?
Make checks out to Graves Concerns Promotions.
We prefer PAYPAL (not yet available). If you have a Paypal account go to our site and click on the link. If you do not have a Paypal account you can still pay with a credit card without signing up to Paypal (not yet available). If you wish you can send a check or money order. Fill out the submission form and then send a check or money order with your DVD. Submissions should clearly mark their disc with name, title, and e-mail so that we can keep them all straight. Also that they should enclose a copy of the paid PAYPAL receipt if pre-paying.
Returned Checks will be subject to additional cost of $30.00
IF YOUR FILM IS SELECTED
If your film is selected to be shown at The Darkwoods Convention 2 All Access weekend passes will be reserved will-call in the name of the person who submitted the film. Additional tickets may be purchased though this site or at the event
